Simple Custom Post Order

Order posts(posts, any custom post types) using a Drag and Drop Sortable JavaScript. Configuration is unnecessary. You can do directly on default WordPress administration.
Excluding custom query which uses order or orderby parameters, in get_posts or query_posts and so on.

The other post sorting plugin I tried (the most popular one) still modifies your main query even when viewing post types that you've turned off for this plugin. This plugin leaves the query alone for those post types. It's simple and it works great.

Unlike the 'exotic' mechanics/features provided by many other plugins, this one provides a feature that really should be included with WordPress by default - not every site wants or needs chronologically ordered post types. So unless you use this type of plugin, you're forced to change the date & time for each entry to achieve a specific CPT ordering. Thanks Colorlib for helping me save a lot of time.

I maintain a website with a few magazine-like landing pages, and my content creator colleague - who isn't highly experienced with WordPress - needed to be able to order the posts by current relevance, and not by date. I taught her to manipulate the publication date to achieve the desired results, but that approach is cumbersome and prone to error. With Simple Custom Post Order, she can just filter the posts for any given category, and drag and drop the posts into the desired order. That's incredibly more user friendly. Same goes with our 30+ categories. They were presented seemingly randomly in both the post editor and Divi, but re-ordered with Simple Custom Post Order, the categories now reflect the order used on the website, and its much easier for everyone to find and select the right category and thus maintain better data quality. Simple Custom Post Order probably works with many or most themes and page builders, and I can specifically confirm that it works well with Divi for Elegant Themes. Thanks a lot! And keep up the good work 🙂

SCP order is default "out-of-box" plugin in all my projects. It is the first thing to set up on every WP installation for my clients. I had used SCP for almost 7 years for tens of projects. It is a basis of my professional tool kit. I feel deep gratitude for SCP developers!
