fancyBox 3 for WordPress

Description

Seamlessly integrates the fancyBox 3 script into your WordPress installation: Upload, activate, and you’re done. Additional configuration is optional.

You can easily customize almost anything you can think about fancyBox lightbox. By default, the plugin will use jQuery to apply fancyBox to ANY thumbnails that link directly to an image. It will also automatically convert WordPress image galleries into fancyBox galleries.

For Inline content linking
– Create a link to any hidden or visible div with an ID attribate, and the plugin will transform the link and enable it for fancyBox usage.
– Note: this may cause a conflict if your page or website is using a smooth scrolling function to jump between page sections!

In upcoming versions, additional functionality for ajax calls and iframe data will be implemented.

Installation

  1. Upload the w3dev-fancybox folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. That’s it: fancyBox will be automatically applied to all your image links and galleries.
  4. If you want to customize the look and feel of fancyBox, go to the Options Page under General Options in the WordPress Admin panel

Works out of the box upon activation with latest version of WordPress (June 2018). Edit: Captions don’t work. 1-2 days after installation, my slider stopped working. I then opened my site in Microsoft Edge to test it. Just before the site loaded, I saw some Russian words appear and then disappear. Immediately uninstalled and everything looks normal right now. Hope this didn’t f*ck my site up. It is the only plugin installed besides the default Hello Dolly and Akismet. Edit 2: 26 Jan 2020. This remains the only plugin installed on my site and so far so good. I am sorry to the developer for the earlier bad review, I honestly thought there was something wrong with the plugin.

Some of these fancybox plugins have nearly too many features, which means more things to go wrong. This one just does one thing, and does it well. Got me out of a jam for sure when another similar plugin just decided to start throwing javascript errors all over the console.

This plugin does what it should, and in addition the code is very clear and beautiful, so I could easily patch in a functionality that I missed
