¿Por qué necesito una cuenta de WordPress.com?

Since Jetpack and its services are provided and hosted by WordPress.com, a WordPress.com account is required for Jetpack to function.

Ya tengo una cuenta de WordPress, pero no funciona. ¿Qué está pasando?

A WordPress.com account is different from the account you use to log into your self-hosted WordPress. If you can log into WordPress.com, then you already have a WordPress.com account. If you can’t, you can easily create one during installation.

I love your up-time or down-time report. Can you please make your backup feature free? Thanks. Also, your lazy image feature doesn't work well.

This is by far the WORST plugin I've ever had to deal with. We recently built and transferred a blog from WordPress to self hosted and along with that transfer came the migration of all Jetpack stats, followers, subscribers, lazy loading and speed optimization. Before Jetpack was installed on the new self-hosted WordPress site, all images from inside of the posts themselves were working 100% correctly. (Don't forget that all posts and their corresponding images had been transferred from the previous site) Shortly after Jetpack was installed all of the images within the blog posts (not including featured images or hard code images throughout the site) became distorted. Half of the users could not see the images and for the half that could, the image quality went down dramatically. After turning to GoDaddy (the new host) and multiple other developers both on our team and unassociated with the project, it was determined that this was 100% a Jetpack error. Jetpack however did everything in their power to ignore that this was their bug and tried to scapegoat every possible outlet instead of just taking responsibility and fixing the issue. Now, after almost a month of this back and forth with their wildly incompetent support who refuse to pick up the phone and provide support or try to actually help or solve any sort of problems whatsoever - a new issue has come up. It appears that 1700 of the website's subscribers/followers from Jetpack have magically disappeared! Even though when they were initially transferred, all of the 2000+ subscribers/followers were correctly listed. The bottom line is - if you can - AVOID THIS PLUGIN AND IT'S HORRIBLE SUPPORT AT ALL COSTS.

The plug in was pre installed on the theme I'm using. It was premium paid for it to be built. Not sure if I really needed this, I have to uninstall the plugin coz I'm saving disk space.

Jetpack broke my site and caused a constant 503 error. My host provider troubleshot my website repeatedly but found none and suggested I deactivated my plugin, only to find out Jetpack is the culprit. My site has not showed the error since 4 days now. Suggestion: Most Jetpack users use it mostly for the traffic stats. It would make a whole lot of sense to have a standalone jetpack Stat plugin, so that one would not install a bloated plugin only to use just one feature.
